Handmade with precision and care in Reading, MA. The perfect gift for one who appreciates natural beauty, craftsmanship, quality, and language.
Tamarind is a fairly common tree. It grows in Africa, India, Mexico, and in pockets elsewhere as well. Spalted Tamarind is not a separate species. It gets its name from the spalting contained within some dying tamarind trees. The black streaks are not actually wood, they are caused by a fungus that decays the wood and creates intricate patterns. While Tamarind is common, spalted tamarind is far rarer. Especially the spalted Tamarind I deem good enough to make it to a finished pen.
The slimline format has the best ergonomics in my opinion. If you're planning to hand-write a ponderous tome or your goal is to journal every day, this is the one for you. It doesn't command as much attention atop a desk as a Rollerball, but what it lacks in conspicuousness it makes up for in utility.
